If you could see your business through a customer’s eyes, do you think you’d make any changes?

Founders and C-suite decision-makers have built food-to-go and casual dining empires in the UK and globally by using technology to enhance their customers’ experience. The thing is, it’s not just about good food. Customers want efficiency, an easy way to pay and to engage with a leading dynamic brand. Their expectations are high. The good news is that people are willing to spend more to meet these expectations.

And, in the UK, people are going out to eat more than ever. Kantar Worldpanel’s 2018 report shows that out-of-home (OOH) food spending is on the rise. From the countries surveyed, the UK spends the most at an average of 525 US dollars (432 GBP) per person, annually. The top draws for OOH spend are grabbing a quick coffee, as well as meals out at pubs, fast food chains and restaurants. In particular, the food-to-go industry is busy and in-demand. Hot cakes are selling like, well, hot cakes. Innovators are the only ones who will beat the competition and attract customers.

Use this infographic to figure out why those crowds of hungry diners might not be clamouring at your doorstep like they used to, and how you can leverage tech to get them back.
