Pizza Pilgrims has today announced a partnership with Wi5, the industry-leading mobile order & pay solution, as it prepares to reopen restaurants and get back to serving the best Neapolitan pizza in London and Oxford. Through Wi5, Pizza Pilgrims will be offering secure and COVID-safe mobile ordering to its customers for both eat in and takeaway.
Wi5’s best-in-class mobile ordering and payment technology delivers a seamless experience for customers of the fast-growing pizza chain, enabling them to order and pay quickly and easily from their own device, helping to alleviate concerns over social distancing. Navigating to the menu via a QR code or advertised URL, customers can safely select and customise menu items, place their order and pay securely thanks to Wi5’s ISO/IEC 27001 information security certification. This evolution to mobile order & pay frees up Pizza Pilgrims’ staff to focus on delivering the high-quality service the restaurant chain is known for, whilst integrating these new measures to keep its customers safe, post COVID-19.
Wi5 will roll-out across all 13 stores from July, and follows Pizza Pilgrims’ recent national launch of its innovative ‘Pizza in the Post’.
Pizza Pilgrims’ Operations Director, Gavin Smith, said “When imagining our Pizzerias reopening we created a clear vision of what our customer experience would look like with three clear principles guiding our decisions. Our first aim was to build a frictionless journey for our team and customers and so began my search for the best partners. After scouring the market for partners who met our brief, it was evident that Gavin, Jon and the team at Wi5 had the perfect solution.

Together, we’re very much looking forward to welcoming back Pizza Pilgrims’ loyal customers, who can return with confidence to a customer experience that safely remains first-class in this new era of hospitality.”
Pizza Pilgrims was founded by brothers Thom and James Elliot in 2012. It began as a street food vendor in London’s Berwick Street market, over a earlier, after a six-week pilgrimage, driving a three-wheeled Ape van through the spine of Italy at 18 mph. On their somewhat legendary journey, the very best of ingredients were sourced in order to make and respect the heritage of the Neapolitan pizza. Some eight years ago now, the first bricks and mortar pizzeria was born in Dean Street but since then the brand has opened a further 12 pizzerias in London and Oxford. Moving forward PP plans to open more eateries across London and beyond as well as further developing the pizza in the post offer, which has already been a huge success. Each new pizzeria will be designed with a unique local personality and every Pilgrims will continue to obsess about serving the very best pizza with unique personality and verve.
