Mobile Order & Pay startup Wi5 makes senior hires following recent £8m seed raise

• UK startup announces senior hires as it lays the foundations to become industry leader in mobile Order & Pay
• Anna Boukovskaia joins as Head of Business Development
• Jon Mahood, former O2 Digital UK Head of Finance, joins as CFO
• New hires to “help company gear up for 2019 and beyond”

Fresh from raising over £8m in one of the UK’s largest ever seed investment rounds, Wi5 has announced two senior hires with the addition of Jon Mahood to its senior leadership team, along with Anna Boukovskia, who joins as Head of Business Development. The Telefonica-backed startup has stated that it is looking to secure a position as the industry-leader in mobile Order & Pay across sectors including dining and leisure, by allowing customers to Order & Pay for goods and services directly from the Wi-Fi splash page, rather than requiring any app downloads.

Former O2 Digital UK Head of Finance Mahood has joined mobile Order & Pay start-up Wi5, as Chief Financial Officer. Having spent two years working in a consultancy role with Wi5, he is now joining the company in a permanent role. At O2 Mahood oversaw the launch of the O2 Drive car insurance product along with the acquisition of data media business Weve.

New Head of Business Development Boukovskaia previously spent three years at London based agency pIE, where she led the strategic development for the loyalty programme for Three Mobile, as well as senior roles with BT and Tesco Mobile.

Speaking on the two key hires Wi5 CEO Prask Sutton said “I’m thrilled with the additions of Jon and Anna to our team. In addition to these hires Wi5 has also added to its team in Marketing, Project and Product Management and Engineering.

Wi5 is a mobile Order & Pay solution for restaurants, bars and coffee shops that allows customers to place and pay for orders directly from the splash page of a venue’s guest Wi-Fi, without any need to download an app.
